Which curriculum does the school teach?

What is the language of instruction? What other languages are offered?
- IICS offers French (Grades 2-6) and Turkish Culture & Language (Early Years 5 – Grade 6). In Secondary School French, Spanish and German are offered as a second language.
- English is the language of instruction for all classes
What if my child doesn’t speak English? Do you require a certain level of English knowledge?
IICS provides English language support classes for children up to Grade 10 and admits students with minimal English proficiency up to Grade 7. Learning Support is also offered to students. However before admittance, the accommodations need to be identified in order to understand if it can be accommodated. As there is no English support in the DP (grade 11-12), the applicants of these grades must have excellent command of the English language.
Is there an entrance exam?
No, there is no entrance exam for students grades EY3-Grade 6. If the students is applying for grade 7 and above the student may be invited to the school for testing for English, Math or foreign language to make sure of the right placement.
Where are the teachers from?

How many campuses do you have?
IICS has two campuses: Hisar (offers education from Early Years 3 to grade 3) and Marmara (offers education from Early Years 3 to grade 12). The students who finish grade 3 at the Hisar campus will continue grade 4 at the Marmara Campus.
Where is the school?
Hisar Campus is in Rumeli Hisari and Marmara Campus is in Hadimkoy, Buyukcekmece.
What are the class sizes? What is the teacher-to-student ratio?
The maximum class size is 20 students per class based on our school policy and the teacher-to- student ratio is 7:1. Our class sizes are small enough to allow for individual attention for a diverse range of abilities.
Can I visit your school and do I need an appointment?
Yes, you can visit our school in the week days and appointment is kindly required. We do meet with the families individually and provide a school tour along with the information. Do you have a branch of your school in another country?
No. But there are other international schools in other countries that offer IB curriculum. So, in case of a move to another country, your child/ren’s academic life will not be interrupted and their educational efforts will be recognised in their new school as well as the quality of their academic studies.
Is there a deadline for applying to your school?
No, there is no deadline for applying to IICS. Although applications are accepted all year round, we recommend for you to submit the application in January/February in order to join us for the start of the next academic year in August.
What time does the school start and finish?
- The Marmara Campus school hours are from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday,Thursday and Friday.
- The Hisar Campus school hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday,Thursday and Friday.
- Wednesday is the early release day at IICS. All students on Marmara campus are released at 2:30pm and Hisar students are released at 1:30pm.
Do you have a dormitory?
No. IICS is a day school, therefore it does not provide accomodation.
What are the total tuition fees and what is included in the fees?
Please note that the first year of study includes some extra fees (Application and Capital Levy fees). The second year these fees are not charged.

The school fees include the cost of textbooks,school supplies, hot lunch, yearbooks and in-country field trips, but do not include class study trips, or out-of-country excursions; nor do they include supplies such as Macbooks laptops in grades 6-12, IB examination fees or bus fees.
Is there a sibling discount?/ do you provide any scholarship? / are the fees negotiable?/ can we pay with installments?
IICS does not provide sibling discount or any kind of scholarship or discounts. All payments should be made before the start of school.
Where do the tuition fees go?
IICS is a not-for-profit school. The fees include most of the costs including education with high calibre teachers, lunch, class trips, extra-curricular activities, school supplies, books, 8% VAT, and Yearbook. The calibre of the educational experience we can provide is supported by the fact that all revenues above our operating expenses are reinvested into our school to create a cycle of continual improvement.
Do you provide breakfast & lunch?
IICS provides snacks in the morning and hot lunch. The lunch menu is published on our website monthly and can be viewed via http://lunch.www.iics.k12.tr/
Do you provide bus service?
IICS provides a bus service with an outsource company. School buses serve many parts of Istanbul.
