Welcome to Istanbul and to IICS!

On behalf of the entire PTA team, I would like to welcome you to IICS and to Istanbul! We hope that during your time at IICS, you and your children will feel welcomed into our community. We also hope your children will enjoy their time at the school while being challenged to increase their potential as young learners.

Our PTA team organizes many social activities for all parents and children to join, outside and within the school. This will help you get to know the city of Istanbul and all of its wonders. You will get to meet other parents in social settings and the activities we organize within the school will help you take a more active role in your child’s school life.

Every Friday you will receive the FRIDAY FLASH email, read it all! It will list all school events for the upcoming weeks including upcoming PTA events. Recurring events like PTA Tours, Cooking Classes and Coffee Mornings are published in the Friday Flash as well. If you have any questions about any of the events please email the PTA President. You can also find more information within the Community Portal located on the IICS website. There you will find information on Academic Updates, Extracurricular Activities, IICS Board, PTA, and Upcoming and Past Events updates.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

What Is the PTA?

The PTA aims to unite the efforts of the teachers, parents and the whole IICS Community by promoting the benefits of an engaged school community. All parents of students attending IICS are members of the PTA! Among all of us the PTA board is elected from volunteering parents.

The main purpose of the PTA board is to administer the community building activities of the PTA and support the school’s mission of securing for our children the highest standards in intellectual, physical, emotional and social education.

We Seek To Provide

• A forum where constructive communication between school and families is encouraged
• Social opportunities for parents, teachers and students to meet and participate in different activities building stronger community spirit and engagement;
• An opportunity for parents to take an active role in their child’s school life by attending social and fundraising events, workshops about the ways education is changing, guest speaker evenings and Open Board Meetings.
• A platform to motivate the community to provide financial assistance for the student projects and initiatives, athletic teams, school community needs and charities.

Join The Pta Team!

We welcome your involvement in PTA activities. Our goal is to build and nurture the IICS community through events, activities, services, and resources. Many of these things cater to the needs of parents to meet and socialize, others are directly targeted to benefit students.

There is no better way to meet people, make new friends, get a deeper insight into school matters, and make things happen.

Joining the PTA means joining a vibrant and dynamic team. We are an amazing group of parent volunteers who have a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm ready to be shared and we are looking forward to meeting you very soon.

Booster Club

The PTA Booster Club is an enthusiastic group of parent volunteers who help out with the home tournaments and activities at IICS. Our main activity is to welcome the sport teams at tournaments hosted at IICS, encourage and cheer our teams and raise money by selling food and drinks to the participants and spectators. Tournaments usually take place over 1 or 2 days and involve students from either local area schools (ISL) or international schools (CEESA).

The money we raise is used to enhance the extra-curricular life of both IICS campuses. Our students are involved in prioritizing and deciding where the donated funds will go.

We encourage new members to join us – whether or not your child participates in activities or sports. It is a fun experience and a great way to meet other IICS families!

Admissions

Moving to a new school and a new country is a major change. Our Director of Admissions at Istanbul International Community School, Zeliha Öztürk, is happy to answer your questions about IICS, about living in Istanbul, relocation, or any of your schooling concerns.
