Online Application
How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in Istanbul International Community School. IICS has an open admissions policy for students who can benefit from our program.
Students must hold a non-Turkish passport for admission to IICS, as required by local regulations. Although applications are accepted year-round, we recommend you submit your application by January or February in order to join us for the start of the next academic year in August. If you are planning to join IICS during the middle of the academic year, please submit your application as soon as possible. Provided we have space available, your child can begin school as soon as the admission process is completed and a place has been confirmed.
Students who have met the admissions requirements are enrolled (or placed on the waiting list) in the order of the calendar date on which they complete the application process. To apply to IICS you must complete the two steps below:
- Visit IICS: To begin the admissions process, kindly contact the Director of Admissions. We strongly encourage the applicant’s family to make an appointment for an interview and a tour of the school’s campus(es). Visiting the school is an excellent way to understand the school culture, to have your questions answered, and to ease any concerns about your family’s transition.
- Complete the Online Application:
- ☐ Go to iics.openapply.com to start your application. Submit the Application Form once all sections have been completed.
☐ Send or upload school records/reports for the last 3 years (Provide notarized English translation of school records/reports if the originals are not in English)
☐ Send or upload Teacher Reference/Recommendation Forms filled out by current teacher(s)
☐ Upload copy of the Passport (JPEG or PNG)
☐ Upload Photo (headshot)
☐ Sign and upload Financial Obligation Form
☐ Upload Health Form (Can be completed and signed by parents; doctor’s report is not required.)
☐ For students Grade 7 and above, please schedule an appointment for English and Mathematics Assessments via admissions@iics.k12.tr
- ☐ Go to iics.openapply.com to start your application. Submit the Application Form once all sections have been completed.
Once all requirements are completed, the file will be submitted to the principal for approval. Admission is conditional upon the review of a student’s current school records and space availability. Individual determinations are made by the Admissions Committee. The Admissions Office will inform the family regarding the status of the application. If there is no available place in the age appropriate grade, student(s) will be placed on the waiting list.
We look forward to getting to know you through the admissions process and having you and your child(ren) in our community.

Admisions Policy and Important Disclaimer
The Head of School reserves the right to refuse admission to a student if:
- It is determined that the student would not benefit academically from the school’s programs
- It is determined that the student’s scholastic/behavioral record is not suitable for the IICS school community
- The student does not reside with a parent or recognized adult guardian
- The student cannot meet the academic credit requirements for an IICS diploma by the end of Grade 12 due to their previous courses of study (for students applying after the start of Grade 9).
IICS believes it is unethical to accept any student whose educational, social, or emotional needs cannot be adequately met by the school’s program.
